AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret sect.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Features
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an unique katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's third free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime properties. The series previously included a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that clearly nodded to the popular series One-Punch Man.
